Genomics and Proteomics
The general theme of our research program is to understand the mechanistic roles of somatically mutated or differentially expressed proteins in cancer pathology. A major research focus is the regulatory mechanisms of aberrant RNA processing in cancer, particularly the abnormal regulation of alternative pre-mRNA splicing and miRNA biogenesis. The research integrates proteomic, genomic and chemical biology technologies in addition to biochemical and molecular biology methodologies.
