Computational Biology
Computation and Theory of Molecular Structure, Dynamics, and Function
The Plotkin lab investigates structure, dynamics, and function in proteins and nucleic acids, through a suite of physically based, computational and analytical tools. We are currently actively involved in the following scientific areas: Protein misfolding and structural disorder, protein allostery and functionally-important motion, negative and positive design in protein evolution, rational prediction of therapeutic epitopes in cancer and degenerative disease, and molecular mechanisms of neurodegenerative and neuromuscular disease including ALS and Alzheimer’s disease.
