Role of Natively Disordered Proteins In Signaling and Disease
Dr .Gsponer and his group are interested in understanding the logic by which interactions that are mediated by intrinsically unstructured proteins (IUPs) can regulate diverse and complex cellular processes. He and his team develop and apply new computational methods to (i) determine the structures of signaling protein complexes, (ii) analyze the functional integration of IUPs in complex signaling networks and (iii) reveal how defects in protein interaction can alter cellular behavior and lead to pathologies such as cancer or neurodegeneration.
